Bandleader-Wally El Timbalero
One morning, at around four years old, while sitting in the living room enjoying a bottle of milk, I saw Tito Puente appear on television. Filled with an overwhelming sense of joy and inspiration, I rushed to the kitchen, gathered pots and pans, and began to play. That moment sparked a lifelong passion for music—the rest, as they say, is history.
The California Salsa Swing Band is comprised of some of the finest Grammy Award winning musicians in Marin County, and the greater Bay Area.Its members are from ElSalvador,Colombia, Mexico,Nicaragua,Panama,Peru & USA have recorded/toured with legendary artists including Tito Puente sr, Celia Cruz, Tito Rojas, Andy Montañez, Luis Enrique, Jorge Santana, Tony Vega, Marc Anthony, Roberto Roena, Héctor Tricoche, Víctor Manuel, Oscar d Leon, La India, Eddie P, and many others.
Bandleader, arranger, composer, and percussionist Wally “El Timbalero” has earned international recognition for his extraordinary talent and dedication to Afro-Caribbean music. Acclaimed by renowned musicians around the world as “Tito Reborn” and the “Reincarnation of Tito ,” Wally continues to honor the rich traditions of Latin music while forging his own artistic legacy.
Through the California Salsa Swing Band, he remains committed to preserving and celebrating Latino culture, inspiring new generations through the power of music, education, and community engagement. With every performance, the band delivers the vibrant energy, authenticity, and spirit that have made salsa music a timeless cultural force.
